Hello

The Rev. Katie Beaver began her call as the Rector of St. John’s Episcopal Church, Congaree in August of 2023. As a lifelong Episcopalian, Katie has a particular love for small parishes doing big things. She grew up in a small church in Glenwood, Maryland which is where she learned about Jesus, grew in love for others, and experienced her call to the priesthood. 

She comes to Columbia from Washington, DC where she has served as the Assistant Rector at Christ Church on Capitol Hill. Katie has a degree in Government from The College of William and Mary (2013) after which she entered federal service, working as a civilian in the U.S. intelligence community for five years. She received an M.Div. from Virginia Theological Seminary in 2021.
